HaldenTechnical Services
Built to keep
critical systems running

About

Started in 2003 by two engineers who were tired of arriving with the wrong drawings.

Halden Technical Services has grown to 184 directly employed engineers and three depots without being bought, merged or turned into a division of something larger. That is a deliberate choice and it costs us work occasionally.

Ownership

Independent

Owned by the people who work in it.

Engineers

Directly employed

Core M and E is never subcontracted.

Depots

Three

Wakefield, Birmingham and Glasgow.

2003
Founded
By two site engineers who had had enough of being sent to jobs with the wrong drawings.
184
Engineers
Directly employed, across three depots. We subcontract specialist trades, never core M and E.
610
Sites under contract
From single plant rooms to estates of forty buildings.
83%
First-time fix
Measured on reactive attendances across the last twelve months, van stock included.

The prefabrication bay at Wakefield. Spooling pipework here rather than on your site takes days off the programme and most of the noise out of it.

How we work

Four things we put in the contract.

None of them is remarkable. Together they are most of the reason an estate manager picks a 184-engineer contractor over a national.

A van racked out the night before. Ninety per cent of a first-time fix is decided before anybody leaves the depot.

01

Directly employed engineers

Every mechanical and electrical engineer on your site is ours, on our payroll, with our induction. We subcontract insulation, asbestos and specialist commissioning and we tell you which is which before you sign anything.

02

The paperwork is part of the job

Test packs, O and M manuals and asset registers are issued to a date in the programme, not chased for six months afterwards. A job is not finished when the plant runs; it is finished when you can prove it runs.

03

We price the remedial before you ask

Anything we find on a maintenance visit is reported with a price the same week. You are never in the position of knowing something is wrong and not knowing what it costs to put right.

04

Safety is the schedule, not a slide

Isolation, permits and access are planned before the work is, because that is the part that decides whether the job is safe and whether it finishes on time. Both.

The people who will turn up

Eight of them, and you will meet at least three.

Halden Technical Services is a fictional company. This website is a design concept built by odoo-websites.com to demonstrate what an Odoo website can look like. Every figure, client result, response time, depot address, telephone number and member of staff shown here is invented. The company does not exist, none of these telephone numbers can be called, and no enquiry made on this site reaches a real engineer.
